Who are we?
Better understand the links between training - employment ? work in Haiti
The Institute of Technical and Vocational Training (INTEVOT) of Queensland University (UQ) is an establishment belonging to Queensland University which is a private but public institution. INTEVOT's mission is to better know and understand the links between training, work and employment to help young Haitians. Since its creation in 1996 and in 2010 after the passage of the earthquake of magnitude 7.5 of January 12, 2010, it has been building original statistical survey devices; conducts studies and research; and contributes in its field to the evaluation of public policies.

Queensland University has created two major institutes and also the UQ Polytechnic Center whose mission is to help young people in Haiti to obtain a Professional Diploma only for two or three years.

The Institute of Technical and Vocational Training (INTEVOT) of the Queensland University (UQ)

The INTEVOT program, objectives and activities that will enable INTEVOT to meet these demands and provide quality vocational training for a sustainable future of work in Haiti, young Haitians have no hope, these young people are abandoned, these young people are forced to join armed gangs groups to meet their needs, INTEVOT is an alternative to begin to supervise these young Haitians.

Since 1996 when it was created, the Institute of Technical and Vocational Training (INTEVOT) of Queensland University (UQ) has been a center for studies and research at the service of professionals, decision-makers, social partners and more broadly of all the actors of training, work and employment in Haiti. The institute is a private establishment under the supervision of the Queensland University (UQ).

Its mission is to better know and understand the links between training, work and employment, to enlighten those involved in training and work by drawing lessons from studies and research, to support and equip Haitian professionals instead of evaluation or observation systems.

The institute conducts field studies and research, builds statistical survey systems and disseminates the knowledge acquired by promoting its work to a wide audience in Haiti.

The majority of young Haitians have only one alternative which is none other than to join an armed gang to obtain their daily bread, so the Institute for Technical and Vocational Training (INTEVOT) of the Queensland University (UQ) wants to be a model to show these young Haitians how they can succeed in their lives by learning a technical profession only for 2 or 3 years, we are here to support them in looking for ways to help these young people create their own jobs in Haiti or elsewhere.
