Tuesday, January 12, 2010, 4 hours 53 minutes PM, an Earthquake of
Magnitude 7.3 of scale of Richter has damaged all Haiti. Unforgettable
Date for us about Queensland University (UQ) Haiti. All the Trees are
stayed and are standing but Building and Business , National Palace,
Unive rsities and Schools , and States Building are completely destroyed.
The situation is very very serious. Queensland University (UQ) Haiti is
gravely damaged. After 7 or 9 months, the situation is again very
serious in Haiti, and Survivors, Wounded and Deceased continue to stay
under the debris and the tents. The Commission Interimaire for the
Reconstruction of Haiti (CIRH) is very bad looked by the Haitian
Population. Many International Organizations, Bilateral and Multilateral
Organizations, some developed Countries friends of Haiti continue to
keep the Haitian Population in the Poverty and Famine. After the quake,
many International Organizations makes many thousands millions dollars
for
helping the Haitian People Victim ,but unfortunately the Haitian
Population lives in absolute poverty until now, the poverty of Haiti
arranges many Countries, International Organizations, Bilateral and
Multilateral Organizations, but fortunately God controles the situation,
the haitian population continues to live again.
When Mr. Jean-Claude Dorsainvil, President of Queensland University (UQ)
Haiti has been at Delmas 19 , to the School of Governance of Queensland
University (UQ). But fortunately, we are survivors. All two (2)
Buildings of Queensland University (UQ) are completely destroyed with
Victims, Wounded and Death. Grace Evangelical Theological Seminary (STEG)
an other Building is also destroyed. The Rector of Queensland University
, Eng-Agr Jean-Ernst Saint Fleur is saved of aptness, he is also a
Survivor. By the Grace of God all the Personnel of Queensland is saved
of aptness.
The News begin to come: Traumatism, Sadness, Pain and Bereavement about
Queensland University (UQ). The Father of Mrs Izelle Dubuisson D,
Provost of Queensland University (UQ) is deceased and again bad news ,
the Great Sister of her Mother, Husband and Wife, Children deceased and
are under the debris. In the School of Governance of Queensland
University (UQ)at Delmas 19, 15 Students are victims, 3 Wounded and four
(4) are deceased : Jules Ernst and Fortuné Rochelet are deceased and two
(2) under the debris. In the Faculty of Agronomy and Environmental
Sciences of Queensland University (UQ) 20 Students are victims, five (5)
Students wounded, fortunately there is no die. In the School of
Engineering and Computer Sciences of UQ, 11 Students are victims and one
(1) Student, Rony Dorsainvil is under the debris and is gravely wounded
but he is a survivor. At Grace Evangelical Theological Seminary (STEG)
there are only 9 victims and one deceased. In Queensland
Language Institute (QLI) there are 15 Students Victims and 5 Deceased.
To the Institution Mixte Queensland (IMQ) Kindergarten- Primary and High
School, there are 25 Children Victims and 8 deceased and two (2)
Professors are deceased : Ms. Dameçoise François is die and an other is
under the debris.
About Queensland University (UQ) we are really very busy with Victims,
Wounded and Deceased in the Rural and Urban Areas of Haiti. At this
time, we seek Fund, International Partners and Volunteers to help us to
collect Fund and also help us to do Fund Raising to rebuild two (2)
Buildings of Queensland University (UQ) and one (1) Building of Grace
Evangelical Theological Seminary (STEG) and Institution Mixte Queensland
(IMQ), Kindergarten, Elementary and High School with a American Program.
The summer before last a total of four hurricanes swept over Haiti in a
four-week period and killed over 1,200 people. These storms went on to
strike Cuba where only 8 died. Why the difference? We are afraid for
Haiti.
Again, just as Haiti had been especially vulnerable to the devastation
of a virus, the denuded mountains of Haiti and sub-standard urban
drainage--both a consequence of extreme poverty--left Haiti much more
vulnerable to deadly flash floods from these hurricanes and there is any
technical structure to save the Haitian population.
Seven or nine months ago today, thirty-five seconds of shaking from a
7.3 magnitude earthquake demonstrated again the vulnerability poverty
creates. A quarter million people were crushed and killed under the
rubble and until now there are many deaths under the debris . Those
spared were left traumatized and struggling to survive. Over a million
and a half are still homeless.
Why did so many die when even larger quakes in other places killed
comparatively few? Again, extreme poverty left Haiti's people vulnerable
and there are many International Organizations, Bilateral and
Multilateral Organizations with many thousands millions dollars but the
haitian people continue to live in extreme poverty and these
International Organizations continue to keep the haitian population in
extreme poverty because the extreme poverty of Haiti arranges many
Countries saying Friends of Haiti or Enemies of Haiti. In a country
where well over half the population survives on less than a dollar a
day, few have funds to spend on buildings that meet even basic
construction standards, but no the extreme poverty of Haiti arranges
many Countries and International Organizations.
I could talk in this message about all the work that Queensland
University (UQ), Grace Evangelical Theological Seminaries (STEG),
Institution Mixte Queensland (IMQ), is doing in Haiti and the difference
we and our partners are making for thousands of children and adults in
the rural and urban areas of Haiti. We will do that soon in an upcoming
newsletter. It is more fitting on this day that we simply take a moment
to remember them and mourn their loss. And January 12, 2010 after the
quake, Queensland University (UQ) is obliged to open a New Campus in the
City of Hinche, Plateau Central , with 350 Students Victims and Wounded,
until now we do not received any assistance from any International
Organization or National Organization, for the other Haiti is a Special
Country.
We also owe it to them to remember why so many were so vulnerable and so
many died in this situation, but God take note for your action in Haiti .
Haiti's poverty is largely an inevitable consequence of centuries of
extreme exploitation and neglect by economic and political powers both
outside and within Haiti. It is not inevitable that Haiti stay this
vulnerable or poor Country near by the United States of America and
Canada, and make a difference with the countries of the European Union,
but the America is different of the European Union, we find only in
America, exploitation, poverty and suffering, but may be the President
Hugo Chavez will have a Good Answer for the South America and the
Caribbean Region, we advise Haiti to arrange near by the Alternative
Bolivarian, we live longtime in Haiti in the extreme poverty, if the
Haitian Population finds advantage near by President Hugo Chavez,
somebody says you have to take your chance to save Haiti . As we
remember and mourn, we should recommit ourselves to standing by Haiti
and working to right the wrongs that have left her people so vulnerable
in
America.
Thanks so much for your concern and commitment! May we together be a
force for helping Haiti recover, flourish, and protect itself from
future traumas .We hope that you understand the possibility to help
Haiti, if you have an other Heart , make a Donation by Check to
Queensland University (UQ) and Help us to rebuild all the Buildings
destroyed .
