--Haitian and American Program --

Since 1999 Institution Mixte Queenslande (IMQ) is located in Delmas which is in West of Port-au-Prince, Haiti.It is a private educational institution that was established to address the educational institution needs of children living in the marginalized areas of Delmas and Haiti. Institution Mixte Queensland (IMQ) is a Christian school that has an American program and a Haitian program. Since its beginnings IMQ has seen its enrollment grow from 100 to now over 250 students. The school strives to maintain the best educational environment possible with the resources at its disposal.


Institution Mixte Queenslande (IMQ) Provides instruction for students from junior kindergarten through the 12th grade and High school. In keeping with its international nature, all classes are taught in English and French to students who come from more than 10 marginalized areas of Delmas and Haiti. Continued growth of the student body is expected as more families with school aged children move to Queensland School (IMQ) is a member of Haitian Association of Christian Schools of Higher Education (HACUAS).

--Statement of Purpose--

 

The purpose of Institution Mixte Queensland (IMQ), as a private and non profit institution, is to provide a quality education for the children of institution Mixte Queensland (IMQ) community within the frame work of a Christian world view. This education is designed to help develop mature and healthy young adults to achieve their full potential as world citizens. While the I M Q Christian school’s aim is to provide a quality education integrated with a Christian world view, all cultures and religions are treated with respect. The educational program is adapted to the needs of the I M Q Student as much as possible. Al though the core of its program follows an American style academic approach, the I M Q school seeks to include emphases that transcend any one culture or nationality

Institution Mixte Queensland (IMQ) endeavors to nurture the whole person, uniquely created by God, by furthering each student’s intellectual, physical, spiritual, emotional and social development. Since the ultimate responsibility of a child’s education lies with the parents, the IMQ school partners with and encourages parents in this nurturing process.

--Small Attractive Campus--

The campus is comprised of a five storey building surrounded by two playground areas. The building contains classrooms as well as facilities for the arts, science, indoor recreation, library and teacher, administration offices.

 

--Courses--

The following subjects are taught every semester. English languages, arts, mathematics, science, history, geography,art and physical education. All these subjects are taught in English and French.

IMQ school physical education program includes the following sports depending on the season: track and field, basketball, soccer street hockey, swimming, water polo, football, etc.

Mandarin classes are taught by local staff. Other special subjects taught during some semesters include: music, bible, computer programming, drama, speech debate, creative writing, career planning, and Haitian art.

 

--Competent, Caring Teachers --

 

School Institution Mixte Queensland (IMQ) works hard to employ Haitian teachers who model the values and principles they teach. We need Volunteers Teachers or Missionaries Teachers from the Unitade States, Canada…..etc. For the American program. Support this school by Prayer or by Financial Support.

The IMQ school has a low tuition and fee schedule that is one of the most affordable in Delmas, Haiti. This makes an international private Christian school education possible for most members of the national and international community in the future.
